Bookkeeper and Practice Adminstrator

The key duties of this post are:

· Carrying out bookkeeping and VAT assignments for a portfolio of clients using Sage and Xero software

· Answer telephone calls and deal with front office enquiries

· Support digital document management and scanning activities

· Assist with general office administration as required

Required skills

To be successful, the candidate will need to meet the following requirements:

· Good working knowledge of current Sage and Xero software (1 year minimum requirement)

· Ability to manage own workload and prioritise in order to meet deadlines

· Up to date knowledge of MS Office applications (primarily Excel and Word)

· AAT bookkeeping qualification desirable but not essential

· A desire to work and grow as part of a team

Personal

The successful candidate will be expected to communicate with clients directly, so excellent spoken and written English skills are necessary.

We are looking for a well-organised individual with a positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills. A professional, enthusiastic and responsible approach together with your ability to work in a team will be key to your success in this role.

Remuneration package

Salary: £26,000 – £28,000 per annum (full time)

Graduate Trainee Accountant

You will be working as part of a growing practice servicing a variety of clients. You will be trained in a wide range of accounting disciplines including statutory accounts, book-keeping, VAT returns and personal tax compliance. As you develop you will be introduced to more complex areas including tax planning and audit assignments. You will be liaising with clients over email and phone from day one to help build and develop your communication skills.

Alongside your in house training, we provide full study support under the apprentice scheme. This includes paid courses and study leave at our expense. Depending on your existing experience and qualifications this will lead to either a AAT or ACCA qualification as appropriate.

The role offers the opportunity to obtain all-round experience working for a small practice with a large variety of clients across all sizes and business sectors.

Requirements

Academic

We will consider applications from pre or post university applicants and the training programme will be tailored appropriately.

To apply we require a minimum:

· 2.1 or above degree in any discipline (required to join the ACCA programme)

· 3 A levels, with grade BBB or higher, including Mathematics

Personal
